Governmental Affairs

The Governmental Affairs Committee works with governmental and regulatory agencies that have an impact on SLS and ILS services in California in order to advance the mission of the Network. The Committee develops position papers on proposals and legislation that effect supported living services and provides testimony at relevant hearings. Members of the Governmental Affairs Committee participate on such statewide Committees as the Lanterman Coalition, the DDS Budget Advisory Group, and other ad hoc Committees. Quarterly meetings between the Director of the Department of Developmental Services and members of the Governmental Affairs Committee not only advances the agenda of CSLN, but establishes a collaborative partnership in solving difficult issues.
Training

The Training Committee provides educational opportunities to stakeholders of Supported and Independent Living. It is the responsibility of the committee to identify potential training needs of the supported and independent living community. The committee designs and facilitates best practice training throughout California. It also acts as a resource to address the identified training needs throughout California.
Membership And Development

This committee works alongside the Web and Database Administrator to maintain current membership, coordinate membership drive and keep an accurate data base. In addition this committee will be responsible for recruitment.
Independent Living Services

Members: Jacquie Dillard-Foss, Carol McKinney, Sharon Francis
This committee's purpose is to focus on the specific needs of those receiving and providing ILS services, while keeping the focus on individual choice as well as to promote a more cost effective service options within the industry.
The committee is committed to a stronger outreach to ILS providers, coupled with vigorous advocacy at the state level to ensure the stability and growth of ILS services throughout the state.
Annual Conference

Members: All Members of the Board of Directors
The conference is intended for leaders in organizations and stakeholders involved in Community Living and Independent Living Services across the state. The committee guides the content development and organization of the two-day conference. Committee members may participate in any of the following activities: publicity, room moderation, audio/visual coordination, attendee registration, speaker or vendor/sponsor recruitment & contact and conference materials assembly.
